Caithness thought this idea could be developed further, and gave Colin Terris the task of setting up a 'Jewellery Department'. Casting his search for a jewellery designer, he discovered that Lucia Polanski, a graduate of Aberdeen Art College lived in Dunbeath, only twenty miles from the glass factory in Wick, and that she had specialised in Jewellery during her time in Aberdeen. Lucia joined Caithness in 1970, and designed a Ring Collection which was very popular. Colin Terris concentrated on designing Pendants, Brooches, and Cufflinks.
